Acclaimed artist Colin Brown will visit the Lang Byre Gallery at Woodend Barn Arts Centre in Banchory on Saturday 28 April.
He will be available to talk informally with visitors about his work, which is currently being exhibited along with paintings by Cathy Campbell and Alan Gouk as part of an exhibition entitled “A Celebration in Colour”.
Colin Brown’s mixed media paintings are vibrant collages incorporating found images and text. Over the past 25 years he has developed a strong international profile, including recent exhibitions in Hamburg and Berlin and a number of prestigious awards. He brings his new collection to the Lang Byre Gallery from his current base in Stonehaven.
Also exhibiting is Glasgow-based Cathy Campbell, with interior landscapes in oil that lift the familiar and mundane to reverential heights. For the last twenty years she has exhibited throughout the UK and has work in many private collections.
Montrose-based Alan Gouk’s bold, colourful abstracts offer a third, distinct approach to colour and form. The Belfast-born artist has exhibited at the Hayward and Tate Galleries in London, the Museum of Modern Art in Oxford and has taught at St Martin’s School of Art in London.
“A Celebration in Colour” continues until Sunday 6 May.
