Chart-climbing local star Emeli Sande is planning a return gig at Aberdeen Music Hall, hot on the heels of her success performing with top British band Coldplay.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter, who’s new single Daddy is No18 in the UK Top 40 Singles chart, was originally scheduled to play the city centre venue last Saturday but had to postpone when she was asked by Coldplay to perform with them on their European tour.

It was announced recently that the rescheduled Music Hall gig will now take place on Friday, April 6, and tickets go on sale this Friday, December 9 online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.

In the meantime, the former Alford Academy pupil will be travelling to Paris, Cologne, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Frankfurt and Berlin after kicking off the Coldplay tour in Glasgow’s SECC on Saturday.

Signed to EMI Music Publishing and Virgin Records, Emeli released her first solo single Heaven in August, and her debut album, Our Version of Events, is due to be released in February.

She also appears as a guest artist on Professor Green’s single Read All About It which topped the singles charts.

Described by Simon Cowell as “his favourite songwriter at the minute”, Emeli has written for a number of artists, including Cher Lloyd, Susan Boyle, Preeya Kalidas, Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, and Tinie Tempah.
