Chart-topping local star Emeli Sandé is planning to end her solo tour with an extra-special homecoming gig in the Granite City.
It was announced today that the Aberdeen Music Hall gig will take place on Friday, April 19, and tickets costing £29.50 - £27.50 +bf go on sale this Friday (February 8) online at emelisande.com and www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre (9am to APA FRIENDS, 10am to general bookers).
Emeli who’s latest single Clown is now a Top 10 sales and airplay hit, said: “I’m very excited as always to be coming back and playing in Aberdeen, but this time will be extra special as we finish the UK tour there.
“It’s going to be a night of celebration and fun with family, friends and fans in my hometown and I look forward to seeing you at the show!”
Emeli’s last appearance in the city was her headlining performance as part of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay in June, where she played a short set to thrilled fans at the city’s Castlegate; her last full concert, a sell-out show at the Music Hall, was in April 2012.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Emeli back to the Music Hall. Her concert last April was one of our highlights of the year,” said APA marketing officer Martin Gallagher.
“We’re expecting an unprecedented demand for tickets on Friday morning, it will no doubt sell out in record time.”
Emeli’s debut album Our Version of Events has now been in the UK Top 10 for 50 weeks straight and just last week it sold its 1,500,000th copy over the counter.
