Spring Festival Fever

PLACES for Aberdeen Arts Centre’s fun filled Spring Arts Festival are literally selling like hot cakes thanks to the new-look, action packed two week programme of dynamic drama and arts based workshops for 3-16 year old April 2 - 13.

Join our very own Barry Donaldson for two inspiring and fun filled workshops - the much loved Gruffalo in “The Gruffalo Strikes Back” or set sail with Barry and the silliest of pirates, Captain Jolly, on a daring mission to find the lost treasure. And, if you’re crazy about being creative, then sign up craft club with Alison Watson or Paper, Paint, Pencils and Pens with Melanie Russell and Stephanie Forrest.

For those who fancy something a bit more energetic, then why not dance the Easter holidays away with Cheernastics with Debbie Sherriffs, learn new street moves with Hip Hop with MC or take up cool new moves and skills with Tiny Boppers with Katy Hepburn. And, of course, no Easter Arts Festival would be complete without Musical Madness with Michelle Bruce or Easter Antics with Rhonda Scott.

The two week long festival – now in its third year and attracting over 2,500 young people – runs from Monday April 2 through to Friday, April 13, with two hour sessions running 10am-12noon and 1pm-3pm.

Spring Arts Festival classes are priced £10 each, including a snack; week long bookings can be made at the discounted rate of only £40, including a daily snack at each session. Places can be booked online on our Spring Arts Festival boking system, by post or in person at Aberdeen Arts Centre Box Office.

Holiday Arts Festivals have been running at the Arts Centre during the summer for more than 30 years, offering two to five week programmes of workshops in performing arts, drama, dance, music, craft and animation. Building on the strength of the summer Carnival, Spring and Autumn Festivals have been added to the Centre’s programme. The full Spring Arts Festival programme is available at www.aberdeenartscentre.org.uk. For further information please telephone the Spring Arts Festival hotline on (01224) 635208.
