Rod Paterson is a celebrated performer of traditional song and probably the finest Scottish folk singer of his generation.
He has already produced a large body of recorded work and stage productions to support that point of view, and has featured on many radio and TV productions, including The Transatlantic Sessions with Emmylou Harris and Phil Cunningham.
As well as an accomplished soloist Rod has performed with various bands through the years, including Jock Tamson’s Bairns, The Easy Club and Ceolbeg.
Rod has a rich, flexible and expressive voice, with a rare sensitivity for the song and a superb sense of timing, bringing the best out of his selected material, in particular his delivery of some of Burns’ best-loved songs.
In a rare visit to the North-east, it is a great opportunity to hear Rod at Stonehaven Folk Club on the 30th of September.
Stonehaven Folk Club is open to members and non-members and tickets for the event (costing £6/8) are available either at Celtic Chords or by phoning Pat on 01569-764202, or contact The Folk Club on firstname.lastname@example.org.
