Pictured above are members of the 1297 (Stonehaven) Squadron Air Training Corps counting the proceeds from a very successful bag pack.

The event took place on Christmas Eve at the Co-operative Store on David Street in Stonehaven with 19 cadets, assisted by officers and members of the unit’s civilian committee, staffing the day-long event.

The enthusiasm and dedication of all those taking part contributed to a hugely successful event.

A spokesperson said: ‘‘Thanks to the amazing generosity of the public, a total of £830 was raised towards the purchase of outdoor equipment for the Adventure Training programme in which the cadets take part.’’

A delighted officer commanding, Flt Lt. Duncan Campbell, added: “On behalf of all the cadets, staff and civilian committee members on the squadron I would like to thank the Co-op for their support and assistance in allowing us to undertake the bag pack and a big thank you to the public for their generosity.

‘‘The squadron is looking forward to putting the new equipment to good use when we restart our Adventure Training Programme soon.”
