Local lady Margaret Wells has written in praise of Stonehaven.
“My weekend began on Friday evening when I was reading for the ‘Talking Newspaper’, at the Invercarron Resource Centre which meant though, that I, sadly, had to miss the Fetteresso church choir concert which I understand was truly wonderful. Saturday morning saw me at St. James. Church helping others to make the Christingles. From there I met up with friends and family to go to St. Bridget’s for ‘Soup, Pudding and Cabaret’ organised by Stonehaven Chorus. I then wandered into the new Art Studio in Allardice Street where there were some beautiful pictures for sale. On Sunday, I was present at the Christingle Service at St. James. That was followed by a rehearsal at St. Bridget’s for the service of Nine Lessons and Carols which took place at 4pm. It was a real joy to sing in the choir under the leadership of Gay Slater. Then, finally, at 7pm I went along to Fetteresso Church where Robert Bell was being commissioned as a lay reader. After all these events I came home exhausted but I couldn’t help but think how fortunate we are in Stonehaven to have so many wonderful things to do and to share with other people. Yes, Stonehaven is truly special and I thank God that I have the privilege of living here.”
