Funny girls Carol Smillie, Julie Coombe and Shonagh Price are heading back to His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen as part of a three-week Scottish tour of Hormonal Housewives, following last year’s sell-out performances.
At the city centre theatre from Wednesday to Saturday, November 16 to 19, the trio will share nights of excessive laughter about weight gain, weight loss, chocolate, mood swings, men wine, PMS, chocolate, going to the gym, men, waxing, chocolate, stretch marks, men, chocolate, upper-lip hair, chocolate, men, chocolate . . . and men.
Written by wife and husband team Julie Coombe and John MacIsaac, the show is a tribute to ladies of a certain age, battling their changing bodily functions in a world where they are asked to be all things to all people.
Carol Smilie is best known for her work on BBC television’s Changing Rooms, the flagship DIY programme which changed the face of British television as we know it today. The programme earned Carol invitations to Buckingham Palace & Downing Street, an Indie award, a National TV Award, a Bafta nomination, not forgetting Ronni Ancona’s alter ego ‘Smillie Smillie Carol Smillie’ and, of course, the big red book on This Is Your Life. Tickets are available online at www.boxofficeaberdeen.com, by phone at 01224 641122 and at Aberdeen Box Office at the Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre.
