US laughter-maker plans North-east double-header

The North-east is to play host to the first two Scottish dates on a devilishly new UK tour by American comedian Reginald D Hunter.

His new show, Sometimes Even the Devil Tells the Truth, supported by special guest Steve Hughes, will be staged at Eden Court in Inverness and the Music Hall in Aberdeen on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2 respectively.

In the past 10 years, Reginald has become one of the UK comedy industry’s best-known and most distinctive performers; brutally honest, frequently controversial but always meticulously measured and thought out.

He is one of the few performers to have been nominated for the highly coveted main Perrier Award in three consecutive years and has become a well-known face on primetime television shows such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Live at the Apollo, Argumental, Would I Lie To You, QI and Have I Got News For You.

A regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2002, Reginald’s career has led to him being invited to perform in venues the world over in places such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, South Africa and Australia.

His last solo show was hugely successful at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe and his first major tour of the UK sold out in virtually all of the 70 venues visited.

Reginald will be supported by Steve Hughes, who is now widely regarded one of the most exciting stand-up comedians working on the UK and international circuit.

A chain smoking, beer swilling, plain talking Australian, his real passion is the topical, political and intellectual – delivered in a frequently provocative manner.

His eclectic mix of quirky anecdotes and witty one-liners has earned him legions of fans, as well as recent performances on Michael Mcintyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Comedy Cuts (ITV), The Live Floor Show (BBC2), The Comedy Store and Comedy Blue (Paramount), and The World Stands Up! (Comedy Central).
