Premier Oil has donated £5000 to Kincardine and Deeside Befriending as they do not want old age to be defined by loneliness.
A Premier spokesperson said: “Kincardine & Deeside Befriending offers a fantastic service to the older members of our community through befriending.
‘‘Volunteer befrienders can enrich someone’s life by offering companionship as well as assisting people to go out and about.
‘‘Just knowing that a friend is coming to visit can have a positive impact on someone who feels alone and isolated.
‘‘Premier Oil is delighted to be able to support K&D Befriending in their valuable contribution to our community.”
The organisation has been providing a befriending service to the elderly since 1996 and depends on donations.
A K&D spokesperson said: “We are delighted about the donation from Premier Oil, particularly because it is an annual one.
“Donations like this will help us to tackle our growing waiting list.”
