An £86,000 community benefit fund has opened for applications in the Mearns.
The Eneco Tullo/Twinshiels Community Benefit Fund is administered by Mearns Area Partnership and is open to any constituted group in the Arbuthnott, Benholm and Johnshaven, Gourdon, Inverbervie, Mearns and St Cyrus community council areas.
The fund is an increase over last year’s, owing to the extension of the original seven-turbine wind farm.
Susie Brown, chair of the Mearns Area Partnership, said: “The local community liaison group has worked with Eneco to ensure that the guidelines and criteria are in keeping with the wishes of the local communities.
“Comments made following a questionnaire sent to all homes in the area last year have been considered and the guidelines altered accordingly.”
