A 1960s "Famous Five" school reunion looks like being a top class event.
The get-together of former pupils from Stonehaven's Mackie Academy has attracted more than 200 noted interests.
And guests will be coming from as far afield as Houston, Texas and the Ukraine - as well as from all over the UK.
But the organising t
eam are still trying to track down some members of the school's "Famous Five" - the UK Top of the Form radio quiz winners from 1960.
From the five champions, Ian Campbell has agreed to attend - and possibly organise a Mackie Academy yesteryear quiz.
Joint organiser Madge Mackie said team member John Bone had not yet committed to coming and Gordon Shanks is to be on holiday - although he is happy to help in any way with the organising.
"Unfortunately we have not been able to track down the other two members, John Freeman or David Stoney," said Madge.
"However, former pupils Dennis Collie, Crawford Taylor, Rodger Lyall and Michael Cruise are to be forming a group for the evening to give us a few songs from the era.
"We will also have some records of 60s music and a display of photos and articles from former school magazines.
"So if anyone has any appropriate photos they could lend us for the night that would be great. "
Madge added that former Mackie art teacher Avril Aird (nee Harding) is going to be assisting with decorating the hall and they are looking for extra hands on the day to set up and in the evening to man the food serving etc.
The reunion is to take place at Stonehaven Town Hall on Friday October 31.
Madge said: "There is a maximum the Town Hall can take so people should be quick in getting their tickets in case they run out."
Forms for requesting the tickets and tickets themselves are available at both the Shell Hoosie, 96 High Street (e-mail ray.miln@tiscali.co.uk and Ruftrak Bikes, 56 Barclay Street, Stonehaven (e-mail ruftrak@ talktalk.net)
