MEARNS mums can get together and celebrate their parenthood at a special charity event next weekend.
The CLIC Sargent Yummy Mummy Week and Baby Fair will be held in Stonehaven Town Hall on March 11 and gives local mums an opportunity to find out what is available for them in their local area.

The event, run by mums for mums, provides everything
mothers need to know from bump to babe.

A variety of retailers, community groups, service providers and pre-school activity providers will be on hand to give advice, while there will also be plenty of treats for mum.

Yummy Mummy Week is run by charity CLIC Sargent, which helps support children with cancer and is an opportunity for mums across the country to raise money by hosting an event aimed at other mums.

Organiser of the event, Stonehaven mother Nicole Hepburn of The Nappy Laundry Company said: "This event provides a great opportunity to get together with friends and family and find out what is happening in the local area. It is a great resource for mums-to-be to learn about service that are local to them."

Meanwhile, famous faces who have thrown their weight into supporting the nationwide event include Patsy Palmer from Eastenders.

She said: "As a mum-of-three I know how difficult it can be to juggle a hectic schedule. There's always so much to think about and get done, but I also think it is really important to try and make some time for yourself and have some fun.

"That is why Yummy Mummy Week is so great, because it's all about getting together with friends and family, to do something a bit different and raise money for families affected by childhood cancer. So come on mums, take some time out and if there's one thing you do this Mother's Day make sure it's a Yummy Mummy event."

The Yummy Mummy and Baby fair will run from 7pm until 9pm at Stonehaven Town Hall on March 11.
