The family of a man who died following an accident on the A90 at Muchalls this past Saturday have said they are ‘shocked and stunned’.
Police Scotland confirmed this Monday that David Tolmie who lived in the Cove area had died following the crash early Saturday morning.
David was originally from the Dundee area and was known by family and friends as ‘Flea’.
Sergeant Neil Morrison from the Aberdeenshire and Moray Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigation into what happened on Saturday continues and we would ask that anyone who has information contacts Police Scotland.”
The road was closed to northbound traffic for several hours while an investigation was carried out.
The family of David Tolmie released the following statement: “We are shocked and stunned by what has happened and cannot believe we will not see David, or Flea, again. David was such a thoughtful person and touched the lives of everyone he met and will be missed by so many. Flea had such a big heart and was invincible to us.
“David was a massive fan of Dundee UNITED and regularly attended matches to cheer the team on. We will be taking him home to Dundee where he was so popular.
“As well as being a committed and loving family man, David was also dedicated to his Bassett Hound, Dougal who he got from a rescue home and loved to bits.
“David is survived by his parents, Kenny and Anne, his sister Rosslyn, long-term partner Ann and three nephews.”
