A trio of distillers from Aberdeen have won the prestigious accolade of a gold medal at the International Wines and Spirits Competition (IWSC) for Aberdeen's first gin in over 100 years.
Porter’s Gin, which was launched in January 2016, received its latest accolade last week, winning a gold medal in the highly competitive best London Dry Gin category.
Since launching seven months ago, the Scottish premium gin has already sold over 10,000 bottles, has been featured in Vogue magazine and can be found across the UK in retailers such as Harvey Nichols. Porter’s, which was created by three friends and multi-award winning industry professionals, Ben Iravani, Josh Rennie and Alex Lawrence, was brought to life after they realised their common passion to create a unique and innovative style of gin.
Now in its 47th year, the IWSC seeks to reward excellence in wines and spirits worldwide, recognising quality and taste of products.

Following this achievement, Porter’s Gin is looking to accelerate its entry into the international market and is currently in discussion with several potential partners for worldwide distribution.
