A charity-run local radio station has been the recipients of a generous advertising package following an appeal that featured in these fair pages.

Stonehaven and District Community Council arranged for a £500 advertising package on Mearns FM following their appeal that featured in the Mearns Leader a fortnight ago.

It will last for six months and consist of sixty minute slots encouraging people in the town and surrounding areas to become community councillors - especially young people, women and those in ethnic minorities.

There will also be scripts conveying what the Community Council is doing with various issues over the next six months.

Mearns FM chariman Peter Greig, said: “In my eyes this is a win-win for us both and I am absolutely delighted, both with the chance to work with the community council in producing the advert, and with the money given which will help us with the support we currently require.

“That can be exactly the same for any other business who wants to utilise the community radio station to advertise their business or event, all they need to do is get in touch.”
