Bervie’s Got Talent

Bervie Parish Church, Inverbervie, came alive on Saturday with a creative feast of poetry and photography nestling amid a beautiful flower festival.

Although the main feature was created by Stonehaven Floral Art Society on the theme of The Sea, Bervie folk provided their own floral creations to line the aisle, with colourful and fun filled exhibits using items of footwear from football boots to fancy wellies.

In the children’s floral art sections the winners were: Abbie-Lee Davies (P4-5), Rebecca Watt (P2-3), Katie Mitchell and Erin Reid (Nursery - P1).

The winner of the Parish Poetry Competition, chosen by members of the public, also on the theme of “The Sea”, was “Sea Moods” by Sheila Moir, Kinneff.

In addition there was a large colourful display of photographs, entries for the Church’s 2013 calendar competition.

At the same time in Bervie Church Centre, a very successful Soup & Roll Lunch and New-to-You Sale took place.

A busy and well supported day, which raised over £600 for church funds.
