Soup n Roll Lunch

This is just to thank everybody so much for contributing in whatever capacity to the success of the Soup and Roll Luncheon Saturday 10th October.

The event raised £277.50, a really excellent result financially, and also an enjoyable social occasion for our customers making it a very worthwhile effort.

Gourdon Guild

Fair trade Cafe

Wednesday October 28 , 10am-11.30am Fair Trade Café, Delicious Hot Pancakes, home baking and fresh coffee and tea and the opportunity to meet up for some fine company and chat.

Blythewood Shoe Box appeal 2015

Arbuthnott, Bervie and Kinneff Church are once again Co-ordinating their local Shoebox Appeal, which sends Shoeboxes filled with simple gifts to children and adults in Eastern Europe and further afield, who would otherwise not receive any presents this Christmas.

Harvest Thanksgiving Gifts

Although we celebrated our Harvest Thanksgiving last Sunday October 11, we invite members of the congregation to consider making a harvest gift of suitable foods to the Foodbank.

Let us think of those in our area in real need of basic food at this time. The Foodbank collecting unit in the Church Centre welcomes donations of Milk -UHT or powdered; Tea bags; Instant Coffee; Breakfast cereal; jam; sugar; tinned spaghetti; baked beans; rice; dry pasta; Fray Bentos pies; biscuits;Tins of– stew/curry/chilli /corned beef.Tins of– potatoes/vegetables/tomatoes.Tins of-tuna/salmon/custard/fruit/riceThanks for your concern for others

Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council

The October meeting was a quiet affair with no new business being held and nothing to report .

The Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council meet on the second Monday of the month from 7.30pm and members of the Public are welcome to attend.

Bervie Lunch Club

Bervie Lunch Club meet once a fortnight in the Masonic Hall, King Street, Inverbervie, From 12noon- 1.30pm.

They enjoy a 2 course lunch, usually Soup and Pudding costing £4 they next meet on Tuesday October 27, If you are interested and wish to book a space call Isabel on 01561 361007

Knit and Natter TONIGHT

The Committee are delighted to announce we will be back for our winter projects from Saturday November 7

Sports, 3pm-4pm Bervie Sports Centre, Kirkburn P6 up, FREE

Youth Café, 7pm-9pm Herd Centre, Townhead P7 up, FREE

We will be adding to our team of Sports Mentors and if you are interested in joining us every 2 or 3 weeks for an hour, please get in touch. (Travel Expenses can be met)

If you can make and serve hot chocolate on a Saturday evening (on rota) from 6.30pm to set up til 9pm at our Youth Café which has moved back to The Herd Centre, Townhead, Bervie then also get in touch.

Our rota means that everyone can take a turn

‘Meet the Committee’

Bervie is run off the backs of Committee’s, so we would like to introduce you to our Committee’s and its Members.

Sandra Mars from The Royal Burgh of Inverbervie Community Council came to Bervie 33 years ago from Paisley.

Firstl, she joined the former Bervie Players drama group which was great Therapy for stressed our people and entertainment value was brilliant, then the Red Cross adult group as a First Aid Group Leader.

In her role as instructor she helped with Youth Groups which helped her integrate to Bervie life.

Since she retired 5 years ago she has taken up an interest in family and military history, and a keen interest into local and social history. She has been helping in a local Primary School as an extra pair of hands.

Sandra enjoys a range of handicrafts and exercising her brain with Suduko puzzles, reading and pottering about the garden with the local wildlife.

Sandra has been a member of the Community Council for approx 6 months and enjoy being actively involved in the community life of Bervie, she enjoys watching Bervie change and the improvements and upkeep of the Royal Burgh.
