There are lots of great things on at Stonehaven Town Hall this month.
Saturday November 10 there is a Grand Concert and Celidh with Danse McCabre in aid of the Clarsach Society North East at Stonehaven Town Hall. Fantastic band so bound to be a great night, dust off your kilts and get your tickets standard £10. Conc / Members £8, children under 12 £5, Family Ticket £25 (2 Adults and up to 3 Children) bring your own refreshments.
Saturday November 17 sees a variety night in aid of Children in Need ‘A Spot of Variety for Pudsey.’ Acts include Simply Accordians, Dave Ramsey and Ray Milne, The cast from Les Miserables at Mearns Academy, Act Show Allez, Stoney Fiddlers, Street Dance, Lyndsay school of dance, Owen McAllister and more. All door money goes to Children in need. Tickets- Standard £6 concession £4
Sunday November 18 is Stonehaven Cinema time, this months films are:
1pm Hotel Transylvania. Welcome to the Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of the world’s most famous monsters to celebrate his daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday. For Dracula catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem but his world could come crashing down when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
3.30 Hope Springs- After thirty years of marriage, a middle-aged couple (Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep) attend an intense counselling weekend to decide the fate of their marriage. From the director of The Devil Wears Prada, comes a comedy about love and the things we’ll do to get it.
6.30 Taken 2- When the father of one of the villains Bryan (Liam Neeson) killed takes his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan will once again fight to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers one by one. Tickets £6 adult £5 concession per showing
Sunday November 25 Jazz Cafe now moved earlier from 12-3pm with Cindy Douglas Quartet and local artists.
Sunday November 25 Heller String Quartet. The Heller Quartet is made up of four fantastically talented musicians;- 1st Violin - Jean Fletcher, Jean comes from a highly musical family; born in Yorkshire, she studied at the RCM in London with Hugh Bean and Frederick Grinke.
2nd Violin – Ruth Kalitski, Ruth studied violin and viola at the Birmingham Conservatoire with Nona Lidell (Leader of the London Mozart Players) and Andrew Watkinson (Endellion Quartet).
Viola - Sandra Cambell, Sandra went to St Marys School in Edinburgh and then studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London with John White.
‘Cello - Gareth John, Gareth was taught first by his father, a well known ‘cellist at the University of Wales Aberystwyth, and then George Isaacs. He graduated from the Guildhall School of Music in London, where he had studied with William Pleeth and been awarded several major prizes.
