Winner of the Coloured Print advanced: 'Misty Waters' by Iain Wood

Mearns Camera Club’s first competition of the new season was judged on Monday night in the Stonehaven Community Centre.

Judge Howard Kennedy from Aberdeen, who had judged Mearns Camera Club competitions many times before, said he was “genuinely impressed” by the high standard of entries.

The results were: Projected Digital Image intermediate: 1. ‘Cat’s Eyes’ by Margo Wilson, 2. ‘North Queensferry Morning’ by June Gold, 3. ‘The Auld Brig’ by Iain Lawrence.

Projected Digital Image advanced: 1. ‘Let’s Dance’ by Neal Weston, 2. ‘Beinn Dam, Lochcarron’ by Mark Richardson, 3. ‘Honeysuckle’ by Alan Sutherland.

‘Black Rock Cottage’ by Graham Griese won Mono Print intermediate, while in the advanced, ‘Man and his Mistress’ by John McSevney won. 2nd was ‘Say a Prayer’ by Alan Gawthorpe, and 3rd, ‘Falkirk Wheel’ by Weston.

Griese’s ‘Steam Rally’ won Coloured Print intermediate, while ‘Misty Waters’ by Iain Wood won the advanced. 2nd was Russel Adams’s ‘Derwentwater’, 3rd, Gawthorpe’s ‘Namibia’.
