Deeside Piper and Mearns Leader reporter Christopher Bradley said goodbye to the paper this week as he moves on to pastures new.

Chris joined the team last July and has been a prominent figure in the community ever since, but personal circumstances have led to him relocating to Edinburgh.

Deputy editor for the Angus County North division Rachel Campbell took time out from her maternity leave to wish Chris all the best.

She said: “Chris has been a great addition to the team, and he will be missed.

“A particular highlight from his time with the Piper would have to be his impressive performance taking part in the Banchory Beast Race in September, where he finished the fastest in his wave. Although I wasn’t able to join him and my other colleagues, I was cheering along from the sidelines.

“I am sure the rest of the team at the Leader and the Piper will join me in wishing Chris the best of luck.”

Chris, who will now be able to spend time with his two cats - Buffy Summers and Liz Lemon - said he was going to miss his colleagues.

He said: “I feel privileged to have met some of the people who I’ve met here. I wish those people well.”
