Portlethen Parish Church hosted a Christmas tree festival last week.

The festival ran from December 11 - 18 and hosted a number of Christmas trees.

The trees were decorated and sponsored by local businesses, schools, uniformed organisations and church groups.

Portlethen Parish Church’s Minister, the Reverend Dr Flora Munro, said: “As well as more than 21 Christmas trees on display, we had a nativity room for visitors to sit with the holy family, wise men and shepherds. There was carol music, refreshments and a prayer tree where visitors can write their prayers or messages.

“Because we were open until late this gave people an opportunity to come in after work and sit in quietness to end of the day peacefully.

“There was a place to sit and soak in the peace of Christmas. This is the first time we’ve hosted a Christmas tree festival and we enjoyed welcoming the community.”
