TWO Stonehaven business-people have faced their fears and jumped 10,000ft out of a plane, all in the name of charity.
Nicola Aitken, Designer at Fusion Hairdresser, and owner of local shop Castle Trophies Niall Menzies decided that they wanted to take on a difficult challenge to raise money for CLIC Sargent, and since they are both scared of heights, they settled on a skydive which they successfully completed on March 11 at Strathallan in Perthshire, raising over £1,200 between them for the charity.
Niall, who told the Leader that both him and Nicola have a fear of hegihts, said: “Nicola and I would like to pass on a big thank you to all our friends and customers who were so generous with their sponsorship. Clic Sargent do amazing work to help children affected with cancer and we are glad to do what we can to help their cause.
Friends and family travelled down with the pair to cheer them on, and they were delighted to raise the money for the charity, which provides support to children and young people with cancer.
CLIC Sargent provides many services to youngsters with cancer and their families, including clinical, practical and emotional support, financial support including grants and benefits information.
