Stagecoach Bluebird have announced a revision to the Coastrider bus network, which will take effect on Monday, March 28.
A new service X7 will be introduced, replacing the current 101 service and part of the 109 service and providing a half hourly direct service between Aberdeen and Stonehaven via the A90. One departure every hour will continue to Montrose, stopping at all stops en route.
Services 106 and 107 are to become service 7 which will operate between Aberdeen and Stonehaven via Portlethen and Newtonhill.
Services 109 and 117 are to be replaced with the new service 8 providing a 30 minute service between Portlethen and Aberdeen via Cove.
Evening and Sunday journeys will operate as service 7A calling at all points between Aberdeen and Stonehaven, but with additional direct X7 journeys on Sundays operating every 2 hours from Aberdeen through to Montrose.
William Mainus, Commercial Manager, Stagecoach Bluebird said: “We review our bus network on a continual basis to ensure we are best meeting the demand from customers. Our overall aim is to provide a better, more efficient and more reliable package of services to our customers.
“The changes to the Coastrider network will allow a direct link between Aberdeen and Montrose, offering much better journey times and additional connections in Stonehaven. A simplified timetable will be provided in Stonehaven and Portlethen areas whilst still maintaining the current frequency of services for the majority of all areas.”
