A fun-filled afternoon for all ages is guaranteed at this year’s Portlethen Gala which will take place this Saturday, August 31st from 12noon-5pm.

The event, which will be held in the grounds of Portlethen Academy and Bourtree Park, has once again been organised by local children’s charity, Befriend A Child, which provides a befriending service to disadvantaged and vulnerable children in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

There will be a host of different stalls on the day selling a range of products including jewellery, handbags, gifts, sweets, toys, home-baking, ice creams, hot food and much more.

Other attractions include carnival rides, a beat the goalie challenge, inflatable games, bouncy castles, and a beer tent, while NESTRANS will also be present again this year with their cycling roadshow and the Porty Bikers will be displaying some of their magnificent motorcycles.

There will also be live performances on the day from Newtonhill Pipe Band, Portlethen Junior Jazzercise, the Portlethen Skip-Hop Group and the House of Salvation Church Choir, while Mearns FM will keep the music flowing throughout the afternoon.

Entry to the Gala is free and further information is available by calling 01224 210 060 or e-mailing andrew@befriendachild.org.uk
