Over 140 pensioners from Newtonhill, were treated to a slap-up meal courtesy of Wood Group PSN – Talisman Contract and sub-contractor Inspire Catering.

A team of volunteers from the contract gave up their Sunday afternoon to help set-up and serve a 2-course meal at the Newtonhill pensioners Diamond Jubilee celebration.

Aberdeen actress Joyce Falconer from the BBC’s River City provided after dinner entertainment and guests were also treated to a raffle with generous prizes donated by some of WGPSN’s local suppliers.

Funding for the event was split between the Newtonhill Village Association and WGPSN to ensure the pensioners enjoyed a wonderful complimentary day of entertainment.

Joy Towler from the Newtonhill Village Association said: “Thank you to everyone for a successful event. There were so many nice comments from the Pensioners as they left, especially on the food and the faultless service of the staff.

“We are very grateful for all the hard work and would like to express our thanks to all involved.

“It was a big commitment to ask volunteers to give up a Sunday and we are very appreciative that they did. A well deserved and special thanks go to those who planned the event.”
