Drugs worth £11,200 recovered on A90 as part of Operation Banook

Three men aged 39, 27 and 25 and a woman aged 34 are anticipated to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today, Friday, 4 March, following the recovery of heroin and cocaine and other drugs with a street value of around £11,200 as part of Operation Banook.

The drugs were recovered following an intelligence led operation from the Laurencekirk area of the A90 on Thursday, 3 March, 2016.

PC Richard Cooper from the North Aberdeenshire Pro-Active Department said: ‘’This was an intelligence lead operation run under Operation Banook conducted by North Aberdeenshire Pro-Active department with the assistance of the Trunk Roads Policing Group and the Divisional Organised Crime Team.

“Police recovered a dealer quantity of heroin and cocaine along with a personal amount of Cannabis and Diazepam.

“I would like to thank the public for their continued assistance in regards to Operation Banook which has allowed Police Scotland to continue to detect and deter organised crime and drug dealing in the North Aberdeenshire Area.
