An Aberdeenshire school marked the end of another academic year with a prize-giving ceremony and a guest speaker.

Lathallan School held their annual end-of-year Presentation Day and guest speaker Alex Cumming, assistant director of the Duke of Edinburgh Scotland scheme, joined hundred of pupils and families to present prizes as part of the ceremony.

Mr Cumming said: “I was delighted to be part of the day. To see the range of experience and opportunities on offer was fantastic.”

Headmaster Richard Toley, said: “As the school with the highest percentage of pupils enrolled on the Duke of Edinburgh scheme in Scotland, it was very fitting that Alex could address the pupils.”

The Lathallan School Pipe Band closed proceedings with their traditional walk past Brotherton Castle.
