A Mearns school has taken steps to promote healthy living for the young people in the area.
Marykirk Primary School believe that “happy, healthy children are better learners”.
Therefore, the school decided to introduce the Daily Mile initiative as part of their Health and Wellbeing programme.
The school’s head teacher, Mrs Thomson, is positive about the goals being set and looks forward to it becoming a part of the ongoing culture in the community.
She said: “I hope that when the initiative has been embedded within the school there will be opportunities to encourage wider community involvement”.
The Laurencekirk school started the campaign on Friday, February 19.
