Aberdeenshire Council will open extra seasonal garden waste recycling points again this year around Aberdeenshire.

The recycling has been a hot topic in the area for the past couple of weeks with Aberdeenshire Council being accused of backward thinking following their decision to stop collecting glass from the kerbside.

The recycling points will be operation from the middle of April to the start of November.

Portlethen residents will find the garden waste recycling point at the local ASDA car park as usual.

It will operate on Wednesdays, 3-6pm from April 23 to November 5 and Saturdays, 8am-3pm from April 19 to November 8.

In other locations, the seasonal garden waste recycling points will operate on Saturdays from April 19 to November 8 at:

Inverbervie: Beach Front Car Park, off Kirkburn, noon -3pm

St Cyrus: Ecclesgreig Road Car Park, 8-11am

Newtonhill: Bettridge Centre Car Park, 8-11.40am

Garden waste recycling facilities are also available throughout the year at Household Waste and Recycling Centres in Aberdeenshire.

There will also be recycling points at Ballater’s Roads Depot, South Deeside Road, from 8-11am and Aboyne, Station Square Car Park from noon-3pm.
