At the end of Saturday’s Feein’ Market Stonehaven and District Lions Club were once again roaring the praises of the people of Stonehaven and local organisations for making this year’s Market another bumper success.
Despite a cold start to the day the pipe band soon got everyone’s feet tapping. Local MSP Nigel Don opened the event and set forth a day filled with much entertainment and banter.
Lion Craig Bunyan said: “Everyone was in great form with lots of food, drink, dancing and general banter taking place. It was noticeable that many tourists were present in the crowds enjoying the live entertainment in the square and Town Hall, even the security guards got dancing at one point! They were all made welcome and everyone was sent home happy and told to come back next year with their friends.
“The Feein’ Market is all about locals coming to enjoy themselves though, and great credit goes to the many volunteers from the Lions and other organisations that give up their time and resources to organise, fund and attend the event. True to form everyone performed and played their part on the day and it really was a success for the whole of Stonehaven”.
It is estimated that up to £45,000 could have been raised within the various charity and local organisation stalls on the day. The Lions themselves ran out of burgers and hot dogs paving the way for another great year of fund raising activities to help benefit others.
The Lions thank all those that participated and helped organise and support the event and hope to see everyone back next year or at future fund raising activities.
