Finally on course for a good summer?

Despite a somewhat shaky start to the season, the Friends of Stonehaven Open Air Pool now report that all systems are go, and are hoping for a good result.

Mike Robins, Chair of the Friends, said: “although our opening was delayed, we now feel we’re on track. The first midnight swim last week was very successful, and we’re hoping for an even better attendance this week, with a chance to ‘swim beneath the stars’ every Wednesday until the middle of August. Each midnight swim starts at 10pm.”

This year, identifying staff and their responsibilities is even easier, thanks to uniform sponsorship by DFS Intersport Stonehaven. Lifeguards wear yellow shirts, reception staff wear red and the Duty Manager wears blue – all primary colours, in keeping with the Pool’s Art Deco dcor.

“Our staff and their friendly caring attitude are high points of the Pool for many visitors and so we do aim to make sure their uniform is high visibility andeasily understood,” added Mike, “and we’re indebted to DFS Intersport for their continued support in supplying our staff with attractive, comfortable and practical clothing.”
