Grampian Police have issued a fresh appeal for information about a sexual assault which took place at the beginning of the year.
They are investigating a serious sexual offence which occurred during the early hours of Tuesday 1 January 2013, within a vehicle parked on or near to the A90 northbound between Aberdeen and Portlethen.
The 33-year-old female victim was collected in a silver or grey five-door hatchback car around Allardice Street, Stonehaven after the conclusion of the Hogmanay event. Shortly after driving onto the A90 northbound the vehicle was stopped and the female assaulted prior to the vehicle continuing to Portlethen. The victim was left shaken but uninjured by the incident.
The female victim is known to have left the area of Allardice Street, Stonehaven in the company of a male and that the same male is known to have spent part of the evening in Stonehaven town centre. Police are keen to speak with him in connection to their enquiries.
Grampian Police are appealing to anyone who recognises the male depicted in the images, to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or 101 and pass on details of his identity, as it is believed he has information critical to the investigation.
