Friends of a Laurencekirk woman, who collapsed suddenly and died in the town last November, have organised a fundraiser in her memory.

Thirty-one-year-old Amy Wilson collapsed during a coffee morning, when she was just weeks away from giving birth to her son, Harry.

She is survived by her fiance, Peter Reid, and her two daughters, Halle (8) and Chloe (2).

Now two of her friends, Megan Mitchell and Marjolein Donker, have organised a very special fundraiser to remember Amy and Harry.

The women, who work at the Laurencekirk Out of School Club, have formed a committee and an event has been organised for next Friday, March 14, to raise money to buy two defibrillators for the local community.

It will be held at Dizzy Rascal’s play centre from 5-8pm, and include special guest “Angus the bull from Aberdeen Football Club.

There will also be a whole host of fun activities for children on the night, including glitter tattoos, face painting, a star raffle, lucky dip, cake stall, funky nails and much more.

The event is called ‘Stars in the Sky’ and Dizzy Rascal’s have donated their premises free of charge.

All proceeds made on the night will go towards the fund raising efforts.

They want to encourage as many people to attend this night or you can donate funds directly to the RBS, Account Number:00114176, Sort code: 83 24 17

Any donation big or small would be most appreciated.
