Gardening season off to a great start

Members and guests experienced a great evening at the Stonehaven and District Gardening Club’s first event of the new gardening year.

A presentation by Elliot Mair and Douglas Watt from the Raemoir Garden Centre, Banchory, covered a wide range of topical subjects aimed at setting the scene for the forthcoming spring and summer seasons.

The presentation also included a display of plants that had been selected for their suitability to the Stonehaven and District area along with a wide range of new gardening products to assist in the control of disease, pests and to maximize plant growth.

The importance of good quality seeds and plantings were highlighted as being very important.

The next presentation by Frank Taylor, entitled “Vegetables,” will be on Thursday, March 20, at 7.30pm in the Invercarron Resource Centre.
