We’ve teamed up with family-run Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a fabulous Glenfiddich Whisky Collection to raise a special toast to this year’s Stonhaven Highland Games (July 17).

Featuring 70cl bottles of Glenfiddich 12-year-old, Glenffidich 15-year-old and Glenfiddich 18-year-old, this prize is the perfect introduction to the exceptional quality and diversity of the whiskies being hand-crafted at Glenfiddich Distillery.

Glenfiddich has sponsored the Grampian series of 12 Highland Games since 1983 and this year has pledged even more support to enable Highland Games, including Stonehaven, to attract Scotland’s finest heavy athletes to compete and delight crowds with their feats of strength including tossing the caber and wight over the bar.

The athletes receive prize money at each Games and based upon their performance accrue points in the Glenfiddich Heavy Events Championship league, the winners of which will be announced at the Braemar Gathering on September 3.

This year’s Stonehaven Highland Games will be held at Mackie Academy Playing Fields, Stonehaven on Sunday, July 17 from 11am to 5pm. Events will include Highland Dancing, Piping, Tossing the Caber, Hammer Throwing and much more.

For your chance to win the Glenfiddich whisky collection just answer the following question:

In what year did Glenfiddich begin sponsoring Highland Games?

Send answers to: Glenfiddich Competition, Mearns Leader, 12 Ann Street, Stonehaven, AB39 2FE.
