A Stonehaven woman is to abseil down the Forth Rail Bridge next week to raise funds for charity on what will be her 67th birthday.
Frances French, will be raising funds for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, taking on the 165ft drop next Sunday October 19.
The soon to be 67-year-old has said that without the charity she would of not been around to see her grandchildren.
Frances said: “It was something for me to do to say thank you to them for what they did, without them I wouldn’t have met the wee ones.”
Frances suffered an aneurysm in her head a few years ago which saw her rushed by air ambulance from Aberdeen to Edinburgh. She decided to do take on the abseiling challenge, after having done similar fundraisers in the past.
She added: “I’ve done different buildings before in Aberdeen but nothing like this before, this is something completely different, a 165ft freefall drop.”
