Members from three leading clubs have joined together to give Stonehaven a great Harbour Festival.

The Lions Club, Round Table and Rotary Club have joined forces to stage the festival, which will take place on Sunday, August 25.

Chris Holden from the Round Table, Bill Hopkins from Lions Club and Peter Newell of Rotary are excited at how quickly the clubs came together and how well the event is shaping up.

Preparations are progressing well and letters are going out to prospective stall holders, with a layout plan of the harbour area also being prepared.

The clubs are currently looking for suitable attractions and the RNLI have already indicated they will put on a static display of the new lifeboat.

The group hope to get details out shortly of the raft race, a very popular event in the past.

There will also be a sandcastle competition for younger children in the morning as the tide will be at low ebb .
