A pharmacy in Portlethen is one of six dispensing GP practices that is being reviewed by NHS, with public consultation running until October 1.
It follows a review of dispensaries by Haddo Medical Group which was completed in 2015.
Grampian NHS Board accepted a recommendation to conduct a review of general practice dispensing across Aberdeenshire.
Other area potentially affected are Auchenblae, Gardenstown, Rhynie, Skene and Undy Station. The findings from the public consultation will be reported to a review group by the end of October 2016.
During December and early January work will be undertaken to plan the implementations of any changes to dispensing and the impacts of any change. The review will to seek to determine which patients of each of the associated practices continue to have serious difficulty in accessing prescribed medicines and appliances from a pharmacy.
The review will also seek to establish the overall impact of any potential changes involved with the aim of ensuring sustainability and cross-system approach.
North Kincardine councill Ian Mollison said: “The obviously puts a question mark over the dispensary in Portlethen Medical Centre.
“I would urge residents who might be affected to put their views to NHS Grampain.”
