Newly formed local charity and organisers of Hogmanay in the Square, Stonehaven Festival and Events, are asking people to dig deep and to provide donations to support their spectacular Hogmanay concert.
Stonehaven Festival and Events are a group of committed volunteers who hope to attract visitors and investment to Stonehaven through the organisation of festivals and events in the Town.
They are behind the planning of Stonehaven’s Hogmanay celebrations in the Square and after putting in months of hard work the committee are now looking for local residents to make a donation (no matter how small) to help make the event a huge success.
The Hogmanay event has been organised at a cost of £150,000, most of this (around £140,000) has been raised already however the committee is now looking for help on their last push.
Hogmanay this year will see the world-renowned Red Hot Chilli Pipers take to the stage in Stonehaven to welcome in the New Year.
A day of celebrations are planned on December 31 with a variety of musicians and performers taking to the stage in Stonehaven’s Market Square throughout the day with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers headlining the event to see in 2013.
Then there will be more entertainment on January 1 from 2pm so you can carry on the party well into the New Year.
Tickets for the event have been selling quickly but some are still available from Celtic Chords or Ma Simpson’s.
So if you want to make sure you are able to attend the biggest party Stonehaven has ever seen make sure you get them before they sell out, as nobody will be allowed to attend Open Air in the Square without a ticket.
Stonehaven will also be hosting its famous fireball ceremony the same night at the harbour which will be beamed to LED screens in the square.
If you would like to make a donation to Stonehaven Festival and Events charity No. SCO43356 you can make them payable to; Stonehaven Hogmanay Festival, c/o 44 Allardice Street, Stonehaven, AB39 2BU.
