Homestart looking for volunteers

Do you have 2-3 hours a week free to help a family with young children who might be struggling with disability, post natal depression, loneliness or any other issues that affect families today?

Homestart Kincardine is currently looking for volunteers to help families living in Portlethen, Newtonhill, Stonehaven, Inverbervie, Laurencekirk and all the surrounding areas.

Following the completion of an eight week Course of Preparation the volunteers will be involved with befriending and supporting families with pre-school children who are experiencing difficulties.

Volunteering opportunities with Home-Start include being introduced to parents and small children and committing to visiting them regularly in their own homes.

Home-Start volunteers provide an essential ‘extra pairs of hands’ to parents living in stressful circumstances.

They also offer a friendly listening ear and share their own parenting experiences with the families they support.

To find out more about the Volunteer Course which starts on Tuesday, February 23, please contact one of the Co-ordinators on 01569 767773, email office@homestartkincardine.org or visit the website at www.homestartkincardine.org.

Home-Start Kincardine is a charity that has been in Kincardine and Mearns for over 20 years.

They support families with at least one child under 5 who, for one reason or another, is finding life a bit of a struggle.
