On Saturday 8 September, Stonehaven Baptist Church held an Induction Service for their new pastor, Rev. Nathan Young in the main hall at Mackie Academy, followed by afternoon tea. There were representatives there from the Baptist Union of Scotland, all the other churches in Stonehaven, and churches as far afield as Dundee.
The service was led by Rev. Matthew Spandler-Davison, a former member of the church, and a former Mackie student, who is now the pastor of a church in Bardstown, Kentucky.
He started by talking of defining moments in our life’s, and said he remembered the defining moments he spent in that very hall as he sat his Higher exams.
He shared his love and appreciation for the defining moments he had through Stonehaven Baptist Church and the folk in it.
Nathan, a minister from the United States, is married to his best friend Krystal, and they are the proud parents of Miles and Madeleine. The Young’s relocated to Stonehaven in March 2013 from Georgia, and they are excited about serving our church and community.
