Irish music sensation Dominic Kirwan is to perform a special greatest hits concert in Aberdeen in March, in aid of the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust – and he is looking forward to seeing his fans from the Mearns in the audience!
Fans of the popular singer are expected to flock to the city’s newly refurbished Beach Ballroom for the ‘Through The Years’ concert on 7.30pm on Friday, March 18.
Tickets are on sale now and all proceeds from the gig will be donated to the Trust’s two nominated charities, Befriend a Child and Homestart, which both support needy families in Aberdeen.
The event will see Dominic celebrating 21 years on the road and fans can expect an evening of all their favourite hits, from a trip down memory lane to his most recent work.
Dominic’s wide ranging mix of music makes his concerts very special, from traditional Irish standards and contemporary songs through to show stopping ballads.
From his roots as a young Irish dancer in his home town of Omagh, Northern Ireland, Dominic has risen to fame and success across the world and has worked with top country music stars such as Tammy Wynette, Kenny Rodgers and Charley Pride.
He said he was very much looking forward to making a return visit to the North-east.
“I am delighted to have been asked to perform at this special concert in aid of the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust, which will support two very worthwhile causes. I always get an amazingly warm welcome in the North-east of Scotland, where I have extremely loyal fans.
“This ‘Through The Years’ concert will feature everything from the classics to my most up to date hits, so the fans can expect a great night out featuring all their favourites. I can’t wait to see everyone in Aberdeen in March.”
Aberdeen’s Lady Provost Sandra Stephen, who is patron of the Befriend a Child charity, is also a fan of Dominic’s music.
“I am sure Aberdeen will be delighted to welcome this good-looking, accomplished Irishman to the city. We are privileged to have him playing this one-off concert in aid of the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust and I’d urge fans of all ages to make sure they buy their tickets now and make sure they don’t miss out on wonderful night at a fantastic venue!”
The Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust is a fund independent of the City Council, which was set up for the millennium to support good causes of all kinds in Aberdeen.
Befriend a Child is Scotland’s oldest, befriending service for deprived and vulnerable children, founded and run by local people for the Aberdeen area.
Home-Start is a voluntary organisation that offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with at least one child under the age of five in the city of Aberdeen.
Tickets for the Dominic Kirwan concert are available from Aberdeen’s Beach Ballroom, priced at £28 (balcony) and £25 (main ballroom). Call 01224 647647 for information.
