Made in the Mearns is set to return for a third year running, inviting everyone to visit and showcase their talents in Laurencekirk.
The event for lovers of crafts and tasty bakes, or with a love for anything handmade, will take place in the village’s Masonic Hall this Saturday (September 13).
On display at this year’s event will be a unique knitted wedding dress created by Faye Howards’, manager of wool shop Wool for Ewe .
Faye spent eight months creating the wool dress for her festival-themed wedding which took place in June.
The dress was taken in part from Nicky Epstein’s wedding dress for Vogue knitting magazines 30th anniversary edition as well as Jennie Atkinson ‘A Handknit Romance’. Knitted using Rowan Fine Lace and Noro Taiyo sock, Faye started the dress last October, and finished it just two days before the wedding.
Organisers said this week: “Entries will be charged at £1 per item per category or £4 for five or more, and 50p for children’s entries.
Entries must be brought to the Masonic Hall this Saturday, September 13, between 9 and 10am.
Judging will start at 10am and, upon completion, everyone will be invited to view from 11am until 12.30pm.
“Entry fee to view is in form of a donation and raffle tickets will be available for purchase at £1.’’.
