A superb 4ft mosaic portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth created entirely out of Jelly Belly Beans, is on show at Giulianotti’s sweetshop on Evan Street.
The amazing picture is loan to the shop from the importers of the American Jelly Beans and visitors will be able to see it there until mid- October.
Giulianotti’s celebrates 90 years at the Evan Street address this year having moved there in 1923, although the shop originally was established in 1899 in Stonehaven’s High Street.
The shop is using the picture’s arrival as an inspiration for a charity fundraiser. The competition being run is to Guess the Number of Jelly Belly Beans it takes to go from Giulianotti’s to Dunnottar Castle if they were laid end to end.
“An accurate number has been worked out, and the Winning entry will receive a Jelly Belly Bean Machine filled with Beans which the shop is donating” said owner Marjory Stephen. “ The only clue we can give out is that it is a 6 digit figure of Beans!”
All monies donated will go to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Roof Garden Appeal which aims to create a pleasant and relaxing garden environment at the ARI for the benefit of patients and families during time at hospital.
