An informal drop-in cafe, set up to talk about local issues pertaining to alcohol and drug use, is to have its first meeting in Stonehaven.
The South Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drug Forum is a place for local people to come together, to discuss local issues arising from the use of alcohol and drugs.
Anyone with an interest in alcohol and dugs issues is welcome to go along.
The Forum would like to encourage discussions about alcohol, drugs and recovery.
To kick them off, a ‘Big Blether Conversation Cafe on Alcohol and Drugs’ will take place from noon-4pm next Wednesday, February 25, at Stonehaven Community Centre.
A conversation cafe is an informal opportunity for people to come together and speak about what really matters. There will be chances to hear first-hand experiences of addiction and recovery from people who have lived it, family members and people working in the field.
Small group discussions will also take place around some key issues and opportunities raised in the personal journeys and what we can do locally to support even more people to move into recovery.
The ‘Big Blether Conversation Cafe’ is a chance to hear, share, connect, inspire and get inspired. Places are limited and booking is essential.
Lunch will be provided by local Stonehaven businesses Grainger’s Deli, Robertson’s Bakery and Jenni Mac’s.
For more information, to book your place or to register an interest in future opportunities RSVP to Beverley Cattanach firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: 07920590967.
You can take part in the Big Blether at the K&M Communities Blog and Facebook page.
