In June 2012, Dunnottar Castle hosted local theatre group, KidzAct, who performed William Shakespeare’s The Tempest over five nights.

The hugely popular production was sold out on most nights and feedback about the high standard of acting was mentioned constantly. To say thank you to the castle for allowing the group to use the grounds for free, KidzAct generously donated two rare, Jacobite rose bushes to the 16th/17th century garden last November and they have waited patiently since then for the sunny weather to return so they could all come onsite and have their picture taken, next to the rose bushes, in the garden.
