The switching on of Stonehaven’s Christmas lights looks set to be a festive extravaganza this year, coinciding with the late-night festive shopping event.
On Wednesday, November 27, the centre of Stonehaven is going to be open for business until 8pm to give people a chance to get down and see what what is on offer.
Santa’s Sledge will be out and about to meet the boys and girls (both large and small).
Take the children down to meet beautiful donkey Porridge, and help support the donkey sanctuary by having a photo taken with him or buying Christmas cards from them under the arches.
The Rotary Club will be offering mulled wine and mince pies, and there will be face painting and glitter tattoos. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 6.30pm.
A spokesperson said: ‘‘There will be a competition to find all the hidden stars around Stonehaven with vouchers to spend in your favourite shop as a prize, or why not pop into Mearns Art House and paint your own mug or plate.
‘‘There will be special offers in most stores with beauty treatments, discounts and meal deals among the goodies.
‘‘A brass band will provide the entertainment and atmosphere for what promises to be a busy night. i
