Lathallan School Headmaster, Richard Toley, is standing as a candidate in the forthcoming elections to the Board of the National Trust for Scotland.
These are the first contested elections in the history of the Trust and Mr Toley, if elected, is keen to make his mark.
Mr Toley said: “As the only candidate from Angus I have two clear aims, to support the work of our Angus properties as well as members in Angus. Secondly, as an educationalist, I hope to be able to represent the voices of the young and look at the relationship between the Trust and schools as a whole. We have been fortunate at Lathallan, as a school member, to run trips to many Trust sites but I would like to see even more being done to allow children to access properties regularly. The future of the Trust is with the young so we must engage them, make visits as easy as possible and the learning experiences second to none.”
There are 14 Trust members standing for election.
Members can vote online or by using the tear off section in the booklet provided in the summer edition of Scotland in Trust magazine, returning it no later than 5pm on Friday September 18.
