Laurencekirk Ladies

On September 9 Laurencekirk Ladies Social Club celebrated being established for 40 years. To mark this special occasion the ladies held a get together at the Dickson Hall with a buffet meal provided by Jayne at Bizzies. Jim Brown was invited along to say a few words. This year Elleanor Fotheringham is at the helm being the group president and together with the first president of the club Janet Mc Lean they cut the celebration cake.
The next meeting to which new members are very welcome will be held in the Dixon hall at 7.30pm on the October 6 where Castleton Fruit Farm will give a talk.

Jim Brown was invited along to say a few words having had access to the club minutes and diaries so he could gain an insight into what the club got up to over the years. With mention of the various speakers and guests they had visiting including – The Mercy Ships, Cocktail making, Jewellery, craft demonstrations, flower arranging, talks by various groups, cooking demonstrations to name but a few. A blether, a few drinks and a wee boogie followed the meal and a good night was had by all.
